Supported by the Podsmead Big Local I am delighted to be able to offer some funded coaching to parents living in Podsmead with children aged 0-21. This means that if you live in the Podsmead Ward then you can currently access some coaching ABSOLUTELY FREE!
WHAT IS PARENT COACHING AND WHY WOULD I WANT IT?
I love the fact that coaching is all about helping people work out where they want to get to and how they want to get there WITHOUT giving advice or telling them what to do. I have found it so useful and continue to use it to help me with running a business, looking after my family and any other challenges life throws up. It gives me time to think, someone to talk to who isn’t trying to “fix” things, but who is asking me questions to help me sort things myself.
Sometimes my coach asks me questions that are a bit challenging or uncomfortable which really make me think. Whereas sometimes my friends might just want me to feel better or have their own things to deal with my coach is focused just on me and helping me move forward.
Being a mum or dad can be a tough job, even on a good day. I meet a lot of parents who work really hard to support their children, but things aren’t necessarily going smoothly or they aren’t feeling very confident. Coaching can really help with generating new ideas and building a client’s confidence.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Step 1 – Initial chat/meet up to talk about what I offer, how you feel coaching will help and to work out how we will work together.
Step 2 – You will be offered 4 1:1 sessions. These can be face to face, via skype or telephone depending on my availability and your preference. Each session is up to 55 mins.
Step 3 – We review how the sessions have been for you and how you want to move forward.
WHAT IS CONFIDENTIAL?
Anything you share is considered confidential unless there is a risk of harm to you or someone else – please ask for a copy of the code of ethics and safeguarding policy for more information.
THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH – WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?
As this is a 6 month pilot project I will be asked to feedback to the panel who supplied the grant as to how is has worked. There will be a brief questionnaire (which can be anonymous) for them to evaluate the programme. It may also be useful in applying for funding in the future.
SO YOU’RE GOING TO GIVE ME £200 WORTH OF SESSIONS FOR FREE?
Yes. As long as you live in the Podsmead Ward and you have children aged 0-21.
Why not give me (Julie) a call, e-mail or text to arrange a time to chat about this and whether it could be for you…
